Install Angle

Install Angle from the Shopify App Store. Once installed, Angle appears in your Shopify Admin sidebar under Apps.

Before continuing, make sure these are enabled in Shopify Admin → Settings:

• Customer Accounts (not Legacy Customer Accounts)
• Store Credit (Settings → Payments → Store credit)

Create Your Membership Program

1. Open the Angle app and click Membership in the sidebar
2. Click Create membership program
3. Enter a customer-facing program name (e.g., "Pack Perks™" or "The Oak Society")
4. Choose your enrollment qualifier: Spend-based (automatic, recommended for most brands) or Tag-based (for invite-only or employee programs)
5. Set the tier eligibility period: Calendar year, Rolling year, or Lifetime
6. Click Save

Do not activate yet — finish the remaining steps first.

Create at Least One Tier

1. On the Membership page, click Create new tier
2. Enter a tier name (e.g., "Member", "Gold", "The Cellar")
3. For spend-based programs, enter the minimum spend threshold (use $0 for an entry tier that everyone qualifies for)
4. Click Save

Repeat for additional tiers. You can have up to 5 tiers per program.

Configure Rewards for Each Tier

On each tier's edit page, scroll to Rewards and enable the ones you want:

• Order-Based Cashback — Set a percentage (e.g., 5%) or flat dollar amount. Set a reward delay (recommended: 14–30 days) to protect against over-issuance on returned orders.
• Referrals — Set give/get values (e.g., Give $10 / Get $10). Rewards issue only after the referred customer makes their first purchase.

Design Your Wallet Pass

1. On the tier edit page, scroll to Apple & Google Wallet Pass
2. Click Edit
3. Upload your brand icon and logo
4. Set background color and text color (use distinct colors per tier)
5. Enable Always show QR code — this is required for POS scanning
6. Add shortcuts (links to your website, product pages, or exclusive content)
7. Click Save

Install Storefront Extensions

Customer Account Extension (all Shopify plans):

1. Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize → select a Customer Account page
2. Add block → search "Angle Customer Account Extension" → Save

Checkout Extension Shopify Plus:

1. Go to Checkout Editor → Add App Block → search "Angle Store Credit Memberships" → position it → Save

Connect Klaviyo

Highly recommended. Klaviyo unlocks expiration reminders, tier upgrade flows, and wallet pass download CTAs.

1. Click Integrations in the Angle sidebar
2. Click Connect Klaviyo and authenticate
3. After connecting, build these five flows in Klaviyo:
   • Welcome (trigger: Angle Customer First-Time Enrolled)
   • Tier Upgrade (trigger: Angle Customer Tier Changed)
   • Credit Earned (trigger: Store Credit Earned)
   • Expiration reminders (triggers: 30-day, 7-day, 24-hour events)

Activate

1. Return to Membership in the Angle sidebar
2. Click Activate and confirm
3. Existing customers are immediately evaluated and placed into tiers
4. Cashback begins accruing on new qualifying orders

Your program is live. Customers can now download their wallet passes from the Customer Account Extension and start earning rewards.
