Tiers in the Angle Store Credit Memberships app allow you to segment customers based on specific qualifications and assign unique benefits to each group. This guide walks you through setting up and configuring a tier, including eligibility criteria, rewards, wallet passes, and more.

Overview

Accessing Tier Configuration

  1. From the Shopify admin, go to Apps > Angle Store Credit Memberships.
  2. Click Membership in the sidebar.
  3. Select a membership program or create a new one.
  4. Inside the program, click Add Tier or select an existing tier to modify.

1. Tier Basics

Tier Name

  • Enter a unique name to identify the tier (e.g., Living Green).

Amount Spent

  • Specify the minimum cumulative spend required for a customer to qualify for this tier.
  • Leave blank if using tag-based qualification or if no spend requirement is needed.

Tier Tag (Auto-generated)

  • A unique customer tag will be automatically generated in the format:
    MembershipName::TierName
  • This tag is used to manage membership eligibility and cannot be changed once created.

2. Wallet Pass Integration

Apple & Google Wallet Pass

  • Create a branded membership pass for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.
  • Includes tier name, logo, and tier-specific details.
  • Click Edit to customize the design, or Preview to see how it looks.

3. Shortcuts

  • Add quick-access links or promotions that members can view via their wallet pass.
  • Use the Add button to link to:
    • Product collections
    • Landing pages
    • Help/support resources
    • Exclusive offers
Each shortcut entry can be reordered or edited using the control icons.

4. Rewards

Rewards can be enabled per tier. All reward types are disabled by default and must be manually activated.

A. Order-based Cash Back

  • Enable to provide store credit as a percentage or flat value per order.

Configuration:

  • Reward value: Set percentage or flat credit (e.g., 10% of order value).
  • Reward expiration: Define validity period (e.g., 180 days).
  • Reward delay: (Optional) Delay issuance (e.g., 7 days after order).

B. Referrals

  • Enable to reward both the referring customer and the new referred customer with store credit.

Configuration:

  • Member receives: Amount of credit given to the referring member.
  • Referee receives: Amount of credit given to the new customer.
  • Reward expiration: Define how long the credit remains valid (e.g., 90 days).

Final Steps

  1. Review all tier settings and reward configurations.
  2. Click Save to apply the changes.
  3. The tier is now active and will apply automatically based on your enrollment qualifier logic.

Notes

  • Tiers are automatically assigned and maintained by the app.
  • Customers can move between tiers as their spend or tag status changes.
  • Store credit is issued natively via Shopify and tied to the customer account.
